What We Do

The Governors of our school are from a variety of backgrounds and are a committed group, who know the school's strengths and weaknesses. They give their time willingly to support our school.

Governors work with the Headteacher and staff to ensure that the children's learning is at the centre of all that we do in school. They are "critical friends", attending meetings, school activities and lessons, ensuring that the children thrive.

Governors also help to manage the budget, to enable us to invest in staff, resources and facilities to provide a well-balanced and stimulating education for the children that has value for money.

The full Governing body meets regularly to discuss and formalise systems and policies on key areas of the school. In addition, there are specific governor responsibilities like SEN and safeguarding where we liaise with the designated person in school on all issues concerned with the monitoring of that aspect. The Governors have supported the introduction of "Read Write Inc" for literacy and Maths mastery schemes and are monitoring their impact. They are also involved in school recruitment. As a result the school continues to thrive and grow as all the children achieve their potential.
